tari metadata publish

Publishes a template’s metadata to a community metadata server, so wallets and explorers can show the template’s description, tags, category and links.

The template itself must already be on-chain — publish it with tari publish first.

Terminal window
tari metadata publish [PATH] [OPTIONS]

tari metadata inspect is an alias for tari template inspect.

ArgumentDescription
[PATH]Path to the template crate directory (default: .)
OptionDescription
-t, --template-address <ADDRESS>Template address (e.g. template_bce07f… or raw hex). Defaults to the address saved in tari.config.toml by the last tari publish
--metadata-server-url <URL>Metadata server URL. Overrides tari.config.toml and the global CLI config
--max-retries <N>Maximum retry attempts while the server has not yet synced the template (default: 6)
--signedUse author-signed submission via the wallet daemon
--key-index <N>Derived account key index to sign with, used with --signed (default: 0)
--wallet-daemon-url <URL>Wallet daemon JSON-RPC URL, used with --signed. Also $TARI_WALLET_DAEMON_URL; not read from the project config

The global -n, --network and --api-key options apply here too.

POSTs the raw CBOR metadata. The server verifies that its hash matches the metadata_hash recorded on-chain, so no signature is needed. This requires the template to have been published with a metadata hash.

Terminal window
tari metadata publish -t template_bce07f...

Signs the metadata via the wallet daemon (a Schnorr signature). This lets you update the metadata without republishing the template on-chain. No secret keys touch the CLI.

Terminal window
tari metadata publish -t template_bce07f... --signed --key-index 0

Both modes retry with exponential backoff while the server returns 404, which happens until it has synced the newly published template.
